Approximately in April of I helped a friend purchase a car. I was led to believe that I was just the co-signer of the car and later discovered that my name appears first on the account. To my understanding this friend whom I live with has made payments as agreed and had made double payments once or twice prior to loosing his job. After his termination from his job, I gave him permission to call every two weeks and have his car payment taken out of my bank account and made directly to your company. I have checked by bank account and faithfully the car has been paid on. I agreed to let him make payments out of my account because I did not want the account to become behind because my name is on the account.By doing this and giving my bank account information, Heritage has now twice taken a double payment out of my account. The first time I called about this matter the staff stated the money was returned and the second time that I caught this mistake, Lynn from Heritage stated that they failed to apply the money to the account two weeks prior and that a double payment was correct.
My new problems is that on October 13th I received a call from Lynn, whom was very rude and stated that I never return her calls. At that time I informed Lynn that I work 5 days per week, 12 hour shifts and I have little time to return calls, but when I did get her messages, I informed my friend Herbert Weatherford (the co-borrower) to give her a call and I assumed whatever she was calling about was handled, because the payment was never late. Lynn then informed me that my car payment was a week behind and she could not tell me when or how it became behind, I "just need to make another payment now". Lynn whom was very rude could not tell me why I owed money. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and Marie picked up the line. At this time I explained my situation to Marie and stated that I felt Lynn was very rude and I would like someone else to handle my account. Marie informed me that she was sitting right next to Lynn and not only was she not rude, I was the one whom has a bad attitude. Marie also informed me that there is nobody else that can handle my account and that I will "just have to deal with" Lynn's rudeness. Marie then went on to say that my account was now two weeks past due instead of one week past due and that I had no choice but to make a payment or they would inform the credit bureau. At that time I asked Marie exactly when did the car payment become behind and she was not able to tell me. I then informed Marie that I needed some form of proof (billing record) that a payment had not been received at some point. Marie agreed and states that she was sending the info out that day. A week went by and Lynn continued to call and leave messages daily, several times per day, and stated that I need to return her call immediately. Lynn disregarded the fact that I had informed her that I work nights and calling several times per day would awaken me. Lynn even went so far as to call my employer and tell my supervisor she was attempting to collect a debt. Herbert Weatherford then contacted Heritage and spoke with Chloe and informed her that we had not received the billing statement and asked if she could email or fax the statement, she refused. We never received it. Approximately one week after this and still not having received any proof of the past due balance, Lynn continued to call on a daily bases, several times per day. Herbert Weatherford then called and spoke with Tracy, whom said she had mailed it out again.
