Almost seven months to the T, 12 March is when I had Jim's transmission wholesale fix the transmission on my 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe. I believe it was the manual overdrive that went out in March. Not knowing what to do and already being late to work, I was quick to inform my chain of command of what happened, I frantically grabbed the phone book and turned it to the transmission section of the yellow pages and out jumps the biggest add on the page, Jims Wholesale Transmission Center, 24 years experience, Excellent Record with the military and A.E. R, with free towing and Estimates. So I thought these guys would do me right. Amazingly seven months later the same problem arouse and all I can get from Jim's is I dont know what was wrong seven months ago but ill charge you another grand ($1000) on top of the $1516.58 that I charged you seven months ago. As it was being in the military and all i didn't have enough then so i had to get an army emergency relief loan. Granted Jim's does have a 6 month, 6,000 mile warranty. One would think that with the experience and good record with the military and $1,500.00 a rebuilt or whatever they did to my transmission would last more than seven months, it should have at the very least lasted a year. But what was always told to me as a child usually has been right, you get what you pay for. I sacrificed getting a jasper transmission at another shop for around $3,000 that comes with a 3 year warranty. Now Im paying $2,500 on shoddy workmanship and another 6 month warranty, so I got what I payed for.
