JSP Finance, Northgrand auto sales JSP sold us a car with a bad engine

In 2007 my husband and I bought a van from JSP Automotive. We bought the van on a Friday we drove the van to the insurance company five minutes away, at the request of the guy who helped us. We then came back and signed the paperwork and handed them the cashiers check for our new van.

When we left the car lot we drove straight to pick up our four kids. THe van seemed to be running fine, until about six o'clock that night. The kids and I headed out for dinner and the check engine light came on. Of course we couldn't get ahold of anyone at the car lot. First thing Monday my husband drove up there and let them know what was going on the had their "mechanic" check on the car he said that it was just a sensor or some such thing and whatever he did the light went out.

The loght came on several times in the next two weeks so we took it to a real mechanic who informed us that we needed a new engine, we even went to another mechanic for a second opinion, he said the dame thing.

We went up to the car lot and let them know what was going on and told them that we wanted it fixed they assured us that they would get us a new engine and we would not have to pay for it. They also said it would only be a few days a week at the most before they got an engine.

Two weeks later, (four weeks after buying the van). We were driving home from chatham, all four kids in the car. And our engine blew. We wouldn't even have gotten on the highway if the so called mechanic at the car lot hadn't told us that it was perfectly safe as long as we didn't make long trips, and since when is Chatham considered a long trip.

We called JSP and told them that the engine had gone out on the highway, they said that we should have it towed to them so they could fix it, my husband asked if they had something we could drive while we waited he was told they don't do that, and it would only be a week or two anyway.

That van sat in thier parking lot never being moved for eleven weeks! We called every other day and got a different excuse, first they were having trouble finding an engine, then they claimed that they had put an engine in it and that engine had been no good. Now we drove by that lot daily our car never moved from where it had been towed to.

Finally my parents were ready to call a lawyer, I had been making payments on this van and hadn't drove it for weeks. We bought the van becasue our old van was no longer safe to drive, yet we were stuck with it for even longer. When we said that we were going to file a report with the bbb we sudenly got the van back a few days later. With a "new" engine.

It wasn't long before I noticed that our balance was not what it should have been after making payments, always on time. And my husband told me we were charged for the engine. At this point we went through our bank and since we had been rebuilding out credit they let is refinance the van through them. I didn't want to ever deal with these people again.

Not long after we refinanced the "new" engine started giving us problems. We owned that van for just over a year when we traded it in for a newer van from a regular car lot that was much more professional. We has to get a new van because the "new" engine was going out on the van from JSP.

Now I know that they fixed it but they knew when they sold us that car it was not fit to drive. They did something to turn that sensor off when we went back in there about it. These people are crooks who knew that they were putting my four kids in a car that was not safe to drive.

I have read where jeff polen has answered some of the reports on here and he seems to have an excuse for each. But know this I have Proof of everything that happened, my father documented everything and took pitures of the car sitting there several different times. Also my husband documented every time we spoke with them. We were told that unfotunatly the only thing we could do was file a report. We also still have every receipt we ever got from JSP to prove that we paid on time.

Please do not buy from these people they do not care that if you are using thier lot you probably do not have the money or credit to go elsewhere or fix major problems, and they definaly do not care if they are putting your family in a deathtrap.
