Traveler's insurance bad faith refused to pay the value of a classic car

In July I was involved in an automobile wreck with a party who was insures with Traveler's Insurance. There was no doubt as to who was at fault. The party insured with Traveler's admitted to myself and to police he was basically trying to beat traffic and pulled across 4 lanes of traffic. That afternoon I contact Traveler's Insurance Company was given a claim #, an adjuster, rental car and everything seem to be going smoothly until they realized I had been driving a "classic car". They sent an "outside appraiser" to look at my car and CCC Analysis. The CCC Analysis compare 3 other cars to mine. Two of these cars were found in newspaper ads and were sold prior to my accident so they NEVER laid eyes on the vehicles and the third car was at a SALVAGE CAR LOT that was also sold prior to my accident - I called the private owners and the Salvage Lot. So I guess my question is hoe did they examine the three cars and compare it to mine? ANWER - THEY DID NOT!!! This company assumes that people are STUPID!!! When I got a copy of the analysis they were taking off "points" for very minute" things they felt devalued the car, i.E. There was a missing piece of plastic that covered the inside door strip. These can bee purchased 4/$25.00. The guy even told me that when he drove up he was hoping it was not a "true" type of the car. They took off points for a scrqatch that was on an outside mirror. I had to point out to them the scratch occurred dureing impact when my car was pushed into a metal street sign post. As soon as he realized it was a "true classic" everything went down hill from there. The car's value ranges anywhere from $19,000 -$30,000. Mine is in the mid range. They first came back with an offer of $10,600 which was an insult. I told them NO WAY. I already had an appraisal on the car as well as over 50 comparable cars that were going anywhere from $18,000-$30,000. I spoke with the adjuster several times a day. Each time they kept hounding me to file it with my own insurance company. About a week later they came back with another offer of $12,400. Again I rejected their offer. They continued to harass me about filing with my insurance company. Several times they kept threatening to take the rental car away which they finally did and I have yet to settle with them. Next they decided to have their own "in house" expert to value the car. This meant they were throwing out the CCC Analysis which I was told was done by an expert on classic cars.inadvertently, I found out that their so -called "in house expert" is the supervisor of my adjuster and claims to know EVERYTHING about this particular car because he is bidding on them on EBAY!!! My wife had the pleasure of speaking with him and he was very rude and argumentative with her about the cost of this car. She proceeded to let him know that you do not know what you are getting when you purchase a car on EBAY unless you have it inspected before bidding. A car can look beautiful and great in the pics, but does it run. My car was an original. I am not being unreasonable I just want a fair amount to replace a car that I had put nearly $14,000 into. Each time I spoke with tham they came up with another issue they found that kept dropping the value of my car. This companydoes NOT care about helping people. As of August 11 over 2 weeks from the date of the accident I have yet settled with this company. I finally broke down and filed a claim with my own insurance company which I did with hesitation. I did not feel my insurance company should have to be involved since I was not the driver at fault. If I were someone who was insured with Traveler's I would re-evaluate and go with another company. Who knows what they may do if you file a claim. I have dealt with several other insurance companies before, but never one that as ruthless and uncaring as Traveler's. They left me with NO WAY to get to work or my doctor's appointments. Think twice before you insurance with them!!!
