Heartbeat Auto Sales Withheld auto title from me

I purchased an Audi from Arlington Autos on June 13th. For a trade in, I offered my honda civic valued by them at 2,250. I dealt with Rocky Garcia are told him on our first meeting that I had lost the title to my Honda and I needed to apply for a replacement. He told me 3 times that it was not an issue... He could apply for a replacement title if I signed a power of attorney for him. He also told me that Carmax reimburses trade ins better, so to try there too. I went to Carmax and they told me that not having my title was an issue. I was planning a move the next week to California, so chose to give my trade in to Rocky at Arlington Autos because they would take care of the title problem for me. When I called Rocky to tell him, he reassured me that it was fine and to come sign the paperwork. During that meeting, I told him that I was moving to California. He said that when I go to pay the sales tax, he could alter the bill of sale so that my sales tax would be less "not to be shdy or anything." I should have known then not to trust this company, but the price on my audi was so good, I just said no thanks to his dishonest answer and went on with the sale. I signed paperwork giving them power of attorney to get my Honda title, paid $16,000 in cash and left my Honda with them.in return, I drove the Audi home and was given a piece of paper that was represented as the temporary title until I got to California and registered it where I would get a normal looking title. I questioned the fact that the piece of paper did not look like a title and Rocky told me that it was temporary. Thus, I moved to California. On July 24th, I recieved a call from Amy at the company and she told me shi did not want to go through the hassle of applying for my Honda title and it would be easier for me to go to CA DMV and plly for it and send it to them. I explained to her that I was still en route to CA and would not arrive there to get to the DMV until that Thursday, the 25th. She told me no problem and thank you. When I went to the CA DMV and handed them my "title" they told me that it was no such thing and that I had no proof of ownership. I was also told that I had to send a written request to the Colorado DMV for my honda title because that is where I bought the car. I called Arlington Autos immediately and spoke with Rocky and Aaron who told me they could not find the Audi title and would call me that day. I could not get ahold of them until the following Monday when Amy told me that they refused to give me the title to my Audi until I had the Honda title. While I understand that thinking, I told her that I was working on it, but the CO DMV said it would take 6 weeks to get a replacement title and the CA DMV only gave me an extension of 4 weeks to get my Audi title. My husband and I both offerred to pay the 2,250 to them until I could get them the title and then they could pay me back so they wouldn't feel out of any money. She laughed and refused. Over the next few weeks, I called the company every week to update them on the honda title and ask them for any compromise so that I could avoid late registration fees and having to drive a rental card. Each time, Amy would laugh then get beligerent with me. I filed a report with the BBB but the company would not respond. Finally, Aaron called me again and offerred to take the 2,250 isn cashiers check in return for the audi title then return the money to me when I got the Honda title. I told him I would do that and have that agreement in writing. I also told him that would only work if I had the title by Monday the 27th so I could get to the DMV (we spoke on Wednesday the 22). He agreed and we said we would overnight everything so I would have it on time. I did not get the title by that Saturday and could not get ahold of them. On Monday, I still did not have the title in the mail and finally got ahold of Amy and Aaron who told me they were just cashing my check and had not sent me the title! I asked for reimbursement of late fees and rental cars if I could not get to the DMV before my temporary registration ran out and they both laughed and refused. I can't believe I sent them all of this money and they did not help me in return. Also, Amy let it slip to me that I needed to hurry on my Honda title because she had sold my Honda to new customers and they were angry. I feel bad for those customers because they just bought a car for which Arlington Autos does not have the title! I feel like I gave them chances to make things right. They all admit that Rocky should never have taken my money or my trade in but won't make things right with me. I will lose more money through late fees than I got for my trade in. I would love to be repaid, but mostly feel that they are scamming people left and right and feel no remorse. Just don't want this to happen to anyone else.
