Today, June 17, my cousin and I went to get a tire rotation done on my 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT. The lug nuts on this car has it's own special type of "key" to be used to remove the lugs. My cousin and I were at a nearby Best Buy while waiting for the work to be done. We left Best Buy and noticed the car parked in a different location, assuming that they were finished we went into Tire Kingdom to pay and leave. One of the men that worked there, the one working the cashier at the time check me out and gave me back my lug nut key. We headed home and later that day we prepared to change the front struts of the car. After we lifted the car we got the "key", attached it to the rachet or whatever and started to remove the lugnut. We heard clicking. We looked at the inside of the "key" and there it was. The teeth inside my lug nut "key" was destroyed. They were fine a couple weeks ago when my friend checking the tires. The "key" had it's teeth, the lugnut didn't want to come off so we gave up, IT HAD GRIP of the lugnut at the time. That was the last time the key was used up until today. My friend called the Tire Kingdom that I we went to and they denied using the "key", stripping it, and told us to call tomorrow. This isn't the first time Tire Kingdom messed up. I believe they don't care for the customers' vehicles and just want the job to be done easy and quick. Wrong tools were probably used for ease. That may be how my "key" was stripped. I can't change my struts today. I've waited long enough for this to be done and now I can't do it.
