I had seen Integrity Auto Exchange on autotrader and they seemed to have a lot of good deals. I went in one day to buy a 2003 Nissan Altima which had been posted for $7800. It seemed like an unbelieveable deal for the price and the mileage (57k) I took a look under the hood... Seemed fine. Test drove the car... Seemed fine. It was the day I drove it home from the dealership that I noticed problems right away
As I was on I-4, the car shook violently when I went above 60 mph, then I ran into the usual even rush hour traffic going through downtown orlando. A driver honked his horn at me and told me my back tire was shaking, so I pulled off to the road and examined the right rear wheel, it looked ok. I shrugged it off and got back onto the freeway.
I later found out that right rear rim was not only cracked, but bent and couldn't be fixed. I had a tire place put on a replacement rim, car drove ok. But there was NO SPARE TIRE in the trunk. I went back to the dealership the next morning and was given a spare tire free of charge.
Now one thing I noticed when I bought the car was the "Service Engine Soon" light was on. I had the oil changed (it needed that when I bought the car) The light was still on, but the car drove fine so I shrugged it off.
For the next two months the car drove fine, then one day at work I started the car and one of my nearby supervisors who was heading home for the night said he had noticed blue smoke everywhere. I then found out the car had consumed about 4 quarts of in nearly 2 months!
I added the oil two weeks ago, yet the check engine light was STILL on. I took my car to Universal Nissan and I was told my car has a bad catalytic converter and needs an all new engine! Really? At 61k miles? Fine, its under a warranty, so have I wont pay for it. I should expect my car back tomorrow or the day after
As much as I love my car, I really wish I hadn't bought it. The autocheck report also stated there was unibody damage to the car and that it had been in an accident around 2006. I made the mistake of not pulling that report before I bought the car. I was still frustrated the dealer had not disclosed that to me.
To any people in the Orlando, FL metro area looking to buy a car, STAY AWAY FROM INTEGRITY AUTO EXCHANGE, they are the Wal-Mart of used car lots, excellent prices but really crappy cars.
