I leased a Dodge Caliber from Park Plaza Dodge. I had seen the ad in the paper for a $99 a month payment with no money down. Ok, so at he time my credit score was good. So I went ahead and signed the papers. The part that irritated me was that the agreement to pay $450 if the car was not purchased at lease end was not disclosed to me and also it was slipped in unbeknown to me.
When the 2 year lease was up I returned the car in excellent condition with about 17.000 miles. 7000 less than the lease had allocated. Was I reimbursed for this? Absolutely not. I did however receive a bill for $450 in my mail because I did not purchase the car after the lease was up. I believe this is totally shady and illegal and I would never do any business with this company again, or Chrysler for that matter. I see why people are buying japanese cars. It seems like to me like a lot of these local dealers or out to rip off the consumer.
I refuse to pay this bill and I will fight it all the way. Anyone out there know how I can file a complaint. I am planning to file with the BBC and the Illinois consumer agency. I might also submit this to a media outlet.
