You think you buy a new car and will sit without problems?
Bought brand new Kia Sportage from Kia Strand/Somerset West on 12 November
Since then the car has been at their workshop for repairs for about 75% of the time no kidding!
Experienced gear problems since purchasing the car. Had gearbox replaced with only 500km on the clock.
Vehicle develops screetching sound at back suspension. Ends up to be a cracked bolt which could have caused the whole suspension to collapse. That from driving on tar roads!
Was told clutch system is faulty and it needs to be replaced
Turbo seized to work
Transfer box leakage causing oil spills
Lack of feedback from Kia Strand and Kia SA
Sales executive Rian Visagie promises me the car will be replaced or I will be refunded. This was rejected by Fritz Roberg, dealership principal.
One would think that in the current economic situation in which especially car dealers have been hit hard, companies like Kia would go out of their way to keep their clients happy. But to no avail.
The problems to the car was not cause by neglect or any kind of vehicle abuse. The car is brand new, has had problems from day one an the worst of it is that Kia Strand seems to throw their hands in the air, saying "Your Problem."
This mail serve to convince Kia SA and International to do something serious about the problem and refund my dad for this purchase. If the problem is with a brand new product KIA manufactured, there is no reason why he as consumer, will have to carry the consequence. KIA has absolutely NO interest in helping with a problem which was caused by solely their product.
Click on a complaint which was laid by Mr Fred Coertzen at the same multi-concession dealership of which Kia Strand is part of, about problems experienced with his Daihatsu Terios and the subsequent service he received.
