My husband and I went through a Chevy Dealership about 3 years ago when we purchased our truck. My husband was making good money and I had a good job so when the salesman said that the payments were going to be about 500.00 a month we figured that with his "yearly" raises that we would be able to afford it and we could get it paid off quicker.
Well, my husband hasn't had a raise in 3 years now. I lost the job I had due to a desease (fibromyalgia) and was not able to do the job any longer. Neathless to say it's been a struggle for the past 3 years. When the economy took a nose dive this past year and a gallon of milk cost 4. Oo and bread almost 3. Oo, we got behind on our payment.
They had been harrassing us since we started with their company. Every month they would call either one week before our payment was due wanting money or the day it was due. I've been so tire of it and so when we got behind I called them to see if we could make some kind of arrangement. I hated talking to those people because they talk to you like your shit on the bottom of their shoes, but figured i'd nip it in the butt first. When I talked to the exetremely rude "associate" she asked why we had purchase a vehicle if we couldn't pay for it. I explained to her about my husband not getting a raise and about my condition and also made a statement about how we didn't know the the economey was going to go into the crapper. I asked if we could get it refinanced with them so the payment would be lower and that would help us out and they would be able to get the payment on time. She said that they don't refinance and should take it up with my banking instutution. She didn't care but set up the payments.
We paid them 700.00 in Dec. 2008 and another 700.00 in Jan. 2009 then they took out another 245.00 in Feb. 2009. It should of got us all caught up, but I just recieved a notice from them and they still are showing that are one month behind.
As of today, 2-17-09, they have called me 4 times about this months payment, I'm about ready to tell them just and come and get the truck... It's just not worth all the crap of dealing with them.
What I can't understand is that we've been paying for this truck for almost 3 years now and my bill still says that we own over 15 thousand for it when we have already paid out over 10 thousand for it. 5,856. Oo dollars a year... I will have to investage further into this matter because we should only owe about 6000 at the most.
If there is a suit filed, I AM THERE!!!
