Uneeda Tire
Lug nut / stud damage

I own a 2007 Toyota Yaris, and this was my second time buying tires from this establishment. About a year ago I purchased used tires. This year I decided to purchase 4 new tires. They didn't have any new tires in stock for my car, so they were ordered. I would be called later in the day when the tires arrived to have them put on. They require 50% down, I chose to pay for the tires out right. I received a call that the tires were in, I returned to the shop about 4:30 pm. Being I was an already paid customer I should have been taken care of immediately. However that wasn't the case. The tire technician told me he would be right with me next, instead they helped out all the other customers first even a couple that came in after me. It was now about 5:10 pm (the shop closes at 5 pm) when they started taken my tires off they apparently were having trouble getting the lug nuts off the driver's side tire. (Note: it was very cold outside, and I wasn't instructed to go into the bay area to have the tires changed.) The tire technician broke off one of one of the studs, then asked me if I wanted him to continue cause if he broke off another one I wouldn't be able to leave the lot. I asked him couldn't they fix it being they broke it. He informed me I could get the part at an auto parts store, but that they don't fix them. The owner came out to assess the situation, and had them spray lubrication on the remaining lug nuts, still the remaining lug nuts wouldn't come off. They then heated the lug nuts, with a blow torch and after a little more work they removed the three remaining lug nuts and put on the last tire. I asked a couple of the tire technicians what they do when something like this happens and they said it was my responsibility to fix it, not theirs.in order for my car to pass NYS inspection I had to have two studs replaced, the one they broke and one they stripped. I went to Vanderstyne Toyota to have the work done, and I would like to be reimbursed $165.95 plus tax for the work I had to have done to fix their mistake.
