Bleakley RV, Stole a travel trailer back from us as we were about to take delivery. Contract signed

I had been working with a nice saleslady. We worked over the phone to get the numbers right between our 1996 trade in and their 2008 travel trailer. I gave her the VIN # for our motorhome as well so they could accurately work the deal. She went to her manager and got a deal worked out. We came back and asked for all hitchwork and sway bars to be included. When she called me back the deal was done her manager had approved the deal. They needed a 500.00 deposit and 1-2 days to prep the trailer. I gave her the credit card number and the deposit was made.

Next day my husband picked up the certified check for the difference between our trade and their new unit. We couldn't make it to get the travel trailer that day because of work and school schedules.

On Friday January 15 we headed up to the dealership to pickup our new kz spree travel trailer. We were very excited, our children were over the moon. I followed my husband with two of our kids in the car with me, while we drove the hour and a half trip. He was in the 8mpg RV. When we arrive at the dealership we park our used unit and go inside. The trailer was prepped and we began our walk through. Our saleslady was not there so we had a nice gentleman show us everything on our new unit. After we were done we went inside to do the paperwork.

We sat in the finance manager's office. I was up and down because of our 15 month old and 4 year old in the room. I noticed someone who later turned out to be Bill Gillard inspecting our used 1996 Itasca Suncruiser 37RW. My husband added insurance to the 2008 KZ Spree 318BHS, and handed over our signed title as well as the certified check from the bank. He then signed the paperwork with everything legally sound. The VIN number on the motorhome and the year it was made were correct. I noticed on the paperwork they were giving us 24K for our trade in but I figured they were working the numbers that way since they didn't take anything off of their trailer. It was still listed on the paperwork at 32K.

After the paperwork was signed we went to watch the trailer get hooked up to our Suburban. They started having trouble hooking it up and had to readjust the sway bars. We were about 5 minutes from leaving the dealership and a man approached me in the garage while I was holding my daughter. He came up and was very rude and acting like a bully and told me we had a problem. I said what problem and he proceeded to insinuate that I lied about what year our trade was. He said he was told it was a 1999 and not a 1996. I told him he was wrong that I told our sales lady what year it was and she repeated it back to me twice. I told him that the error was not on our end. I told him he needed to go speak to my husband, who was inside the service department. He went in there where my husband and 4 year old were and had words there. Bill gave my husband back our title and said we never had a deal.

We were embarrassed and infuriated. My husband told Bill that he was in sales and he should honor the deal. Bill refused to work with us, and was very demeaning. I reminded him that he had our VIN # for 2 days before we took delivery of the travel trailer. They messed up on their end and didn't do their job and we had to suffer. Confused and embarrassed we left and unfortunately gave them the title and paperwork back on our kz spree 318bhs. Had we thought about it we would have kept it and took them to court. That was a legally binding contract with all of the information correct.

I spoke with Mr. Bleakley the next day on the phone. He "tried" to find another unit and work out a deal for us. He tried to sell us a bank repo from another dealer that he aquired. He told me what the numbers were and it was a unit worth much less than the one we had originally purchased. I told him no thanks. I later found out one of our friend who had been at that lot a week before inquired about that unit. His salesman told him it was a hail damaged unit they aquired from another dealer. Certainly not the "bank repo" that we were told.

So please stay away from this shady dealership and this horrible general manager. He was nothing but a bully and completey demeaning to us, and the owner didn't care. Mr. Bleakley apparently fired the Sales Manager that approved the deal and not the man that was the reason for the deal falling through. They are trying to rip off consumers, and won't honor a deal that is made. If you ever have a legally binding contract like we did, hang on to it if you are in the same situation. Make it hard for them to take back their offer. It was too easy for Bill Gillard and John Bleakley. It is truly sad when all of the service people and sales people believe what their general manager had done and agreed with the customer. I spoke with the finance manager Trent, and my sales lady Pam, and the walkthrough salesman Franklin. They agreed we were in the right. Please avoid John Bleakley RV and avoid the heartache and disappointment they will bring.
