I rented a car from enterprise in march due to my car getting stolen. My insurance was covering the whole bill but they still needed to allow $50.00 authorization from my checking account. I did sign and when I turned my rented car back the bill for 14 days was $491.00. As I was checking out I asked the lady do I owe anything and she said NO your insurance is paying for the entire amount.
I left and 1 week later I had a check bounce and couldn't figure out why. Then my bank statement came and it said $91.00 was taken off for enterprise rental. I called my insurance company and he said they paid the entire amount. I called enterprise and he said i owed $91.00. I told him I only authorized $50.00 no more. He said sorry about that. I then said my insurance company paid the entire amount why did you take the money without telling me? He said I owed the money. Well I called my insurance company and he was mad.
After 5 weeks of complaints to the manager I finally received my money but I do believe if I hadn't bounced a check they would of kept the $91.00 and much more from many customers like me.
Sounds like a scam to me... Maybe only in ohio where I rented the car. But beware of your credit cards.
