My wife had a flat on rt 495s exit 9 (mass) on her way home from work during the snow storm friday afternoon december 19th. I called the auto club for assistance since i had already been released for the day and was home with the kids. The auto club called once and stated they were having a problem finding a company to come out and help her, so i bundled up the kids, got in the truck and started my way through the storm to help. Just before we got to the exit the auto club called back... Stated they had spoken to tow happy towing and they would be happy:) to help my stranded pregnant wife. The problem was they would only accept cash payment and it was to the tune of $380.00 us dollars!!! To change a flat, not repair or provide a new tire but change a flat!!! Talk about taking advantage of the situation... These heartless bleeps would not budge... Needless to say we left the car and came back the next day using a car company who charged a reasonable rate within the auto club limits.
I actually called tow happy on tuesday and blasted the owner, his response was "well, you could have called someone else" "i have to eat to!" - just and fyi.
