I am going through the exact same thing the previous poster went through with American Century. I chose them BECAUSE OF the promise of the gas card in the contract. I have in my posession other quotes that were less expensive. To make sure they would honor the $500 gas card that they promised to ship a car to Hawaii, I had them send a separate email stating that they would send me a $500 gas card as part of the deal.
Now I am going through the same thing. Hang ups, lies about how the card has already been sent, etc. The last they told me was they were expecting a "shipment" of gas cards this coming Friday and would send it out at that time. When I asked Odette to confirm that in an email, she refused, stating that they weren't sure if they would arrive on Friday. During my conversation with her, she hung up twice and refused to divulge the name of the owner of the company or allow me to speak to anyone but her. I challenge them to post the "proof" they claim to have in their rebuttal that the gas card was sent to the previous poster.
I myself will not have the same amount of patience in dealing with them that others have had. I encourage any and all people who are in the same boat as I am to contact me through the Attorney Generals office in FL. I will encourage others to join me in a class action lawsuit to make sure this company pays dearly for their lies and the horrible treatment given to their customers. I have given them a deadline of Dec. 15th 2008 to send me the card. I will follow up and let everyone know the status of my case.
