My wife contracted to buy a Toyota 4 runner, with the Warehouse dealership in Henderson, Nevada. Two contracts were signed one higher than the other! Then when she went to finance the deal at our credit union and upon approval was told that they could not finance the purchase because the Warehouse did not have perfected title. Well the DMV said it was never titled in Nevada. But the Warehouse insisted they had title.
So without returning our many calls they went and had the 4 runner financed with their WFS Financial division of Westcorp. How easy and fast and all still without title. The Warehouse refused to accept the return of the vehicle and refused to reconcile the notice of rescission that I served on them March 10.
In the bargain my trade-in Toyota Camry was sold, I returned the $ runner to their lot and left it there. Then I had to go and lease a vehicle while we sort this problem out.
The Warehouse managed to charge my wife several hundred dollars more than the 1998 4 runner cost (MSRP) in 1997 as a new lease vehicle. The credit union charged 7 3/4 % but Warehouse stuck her with 12 3/4 % with excellent credit.
This was a perfected bait and switch operation with the possible use of a potential buying shill to presure the deal. Both Warehouse and WFS are playing hardball on the settlement of this ripoff.
