I had purchased 3 new motorcycles from this dealer in a 18 month span. I also purchased other equiptment from this store in the past. Spent over $20,000 in this store. They have gone through some managment changes but the owner is the same guy I delt with in the past.
The parts counter guy made a mistake on a $2,000 parts order and missrepresented parts as they were the same as what Kawasaki would supply. I was not interested in getting aftermarket parts and told him that. I wanted the same parts that were on the bikes when they came from Kawasaki.
Turns up they were not the same parts and were not the right part at all.
This was found out before the order was shipped. When the parts department was uploading their normal order the next day is when they called me with the part on a back order without a ETA on when it could be received. They could not get some of the parts at all. The manager told me that a brake rotor that was represented as the same part but a different color was the wrong part all together. I explained that the kid that caused the damage was gone and I had no way to cotact him for any additional money.
I asked if they could work something out the the one part. The part was a cost to the dealer of $129 according to the parts counter man. The Kawasaki List price was $202. The part that he originally said was the same part was $99. The parts manager told me she needed to charge $239 for the brake disc. That the cost of steal was up. I then told them to cancel the order. They could not get the complete order.
They wanted to charge me almost $400 for restocking for parts they did not receive. I sent a letter to the owner that day, and visited the dealer the following day to see him. The ower Chris Nelson has never attempted to make contact with me to try and work something out. They did not care and did not tell me that they were charging this fee until they had gottem my credit card number on the phone.
It turns out that after I waited for 2 weeks I order all the parts from. They all came in Kawasaki Boxes. The parts were less then what the Kawasaki of Santa Barabara said they were.
The excuse the parts manager used was they do not make that much money or parts they order from the Kawasaki Parts Division.
It seems funny that was able to sell the parts at a much lessor costs and make their profit for they are not as connected as a Dealer.
I would suggest you stay clear of this dealer, Kawasaki of Santa Barbara and Goleta. Go somewhere else. They do not deal fairly.
A complaint was filed with the local BBB and from what that agency said the dealer is a member but has failed to comply with they membership requirement. They have not responded to the many attempts that the BBB of Sanata Barbara requests to respond to the complaint.
A complaint was made with the Bureau of Automotive Repair for repairs they were charging for but did not do. The Bureau of Automotive Repair sent them a notice violation for not producing the proper paperwork and authorization to a law officer.
Chris Nelson is the owner of the dealership. According the the BAR officer Chris told him that they gave me the paperwork. The fact is they never filled out the paperwork. Chris is a liar. Chirs Nelson has also stated that he is not aware of a complaint with the BBB. The BBB states they have called and left him messages, and sent him two letters.
