I found the one repair not covered under Platinum contract. Be prepared to waste time waiting for a claims adjuster

I purchaed this warranty in the spring when my GM Warranty expired. We paid $250 down and make payments of $111 monthly. I believe this is to be paid in full in 12 months. The first claim was for a window that quit working on the driver's side. I took it into the shop and expected it to be done that evening. I got a call from the service person that they had to wait 45 minutes on hold to talk to someone. They also found that the one part in the window that was broken was not covered. Being that I had the most comprehensive coverage, I was very surprised. I had to pay over $100 just for them to look at it and since the repair wasn't covered, the window isn't even fixed.

I wanted to cancel right away. If they can't cover a window, how can they cover something bigger? I talked to a rep that sweet talked me into keeping it because it covers everything and this was just one of those time that something wasn't. He told me nearly everything else is with my policy.

Fast forward a couple of months. I notice an oil spot in the driveway. I took the car into the shop this morning. I had no hesitation because I was assured that almost all repairs are covered, even seals. I got a call about 20 minutes ago from the dealership that the Warranty company won't do the repair because they need to send an inspector out to see the car before they will submit the claim.

This is going to take 24-48 hours just for this guy to arrive. Meanwhile, I have no car to get to work. I called to see if this was typical and from the VERY rude customer service reps conversation with me, this is in my contract. Then she told me I could talk to the claims person but there were 13 calls ahead of me and I'd have to wait. Gee, I wonder why there are 13 callers ahead. I can imagine it's because everyone else is wondering what kind of crappy service this is.

So now I am to wait 2 more days before I can even find out if this will be covered. I'm out a car, I'm out the money to look at the car and now I'm not even sure the repair will be paid for.

I cannot stress enough how much of a waste of money this policy has been. Just save the monthly payments in an account for just in case. You'd be much better off. Worst customer service ever with the exception of the sales department that sells the policy. They are full of sugar and gum drops.
