Rips off their customers

On May 15, my husband and I bought 2 cars from the Ken Garff Dodge dealership in West Valley City, UT. And it was the biggest mistake of our lives. It has been a non stop headache since then. We had a trade in that was completely paid off and one that we still owed on. The dealership had over paid on our trade in by about $204 and we had a $1500 down payment that we gave them at the time of signing our original paperwork.

Shortly after getting our cars, one of them started having problems with the transmission and signal indicator. We took it to the service department and they treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. They assured me that what was going on with my car was in fact normal. I asked them to please look at my car. The next day they called me and told me that the transmission needed to be fixed and the same for the signal. But, they didn't have the parts needed. They told me to come and get my car and that they'd call me when they had the parts in. The estimated time would be 2 days. Sure enough I received a call 2 days later to bring my car back.By the time I got home (20 minutes later) they had called my house and said that the problem was fixed. I called them because I knew that this was not possible. It turns out that they wanted me to come back and get my car because they ordered the wrong parts. I picked up my car the next day and was told the correct parts would be in in 2 days. I waited and waited and did not receive a call. I finally called them after about 4 days and the parts were still not in. It took them over a week to get the parts.

In the meantime, I also get a call from the fianance manager that did our paperwork. It turns out something wasn't done right on the paper work and we needed to come back in and do it again. We actually ended up doing paperwork more than twice. We had finally received the payment book for one of the cars. When I called the bank to make our first payment I tried to make a payment for the other car too. But their system only showed that we had 1 loan. I called the finance manager and they assured me that we had both cars financed through the same bank.

The second payment book finally came and then I received a call from their collections representative. She said that we still owed for the over payment of our loan and downpayment. And that the dealership had made 2 car payments for us. WHAT? I told her that the down payment and the over payment checks had cleared my bank in June (it is now the end of August). I had to go back to the dealership and bring in confirmation from my bank that these checks did in fact clear. I also spoke to the finance manager and he decided that the dealership would eat the cost of one of the car payments; after all he is the one that said we would not have a car payment for awhile due to all the paperwork mess up that had happened. These things were discussed on August 28th.

Thank goodness I got the conversation in writing from the finance manager. Yesterday, September 5th, I received a bill from the same collections representative at the dealership and she has the following items in bold: 1st and 2nd payment made: 694.18, Missing down payment due: $1500.00, High payoff on trade vehicle: $203.26. I know how much my car payments are and they only paid the bank $683.76. That is beside the point. I thought it was all cleared up regarding the fact that I would only pay 1 of the car payments and my down payment and payoff amount had already been paid to the dealership. I am still awaiting a call back.

This has been the worst experience I have ever had!!
