My best friend went to the huge sale event in Portland on Friday 8/15 (300 cars in 3 days Berlin City Auto). She found a car she really wanted. She gave them her credit card for a deposit to hold the car until Saturday. When she returned today. 8/16, she found that the car has been sold right after she brought it back from a test drive (they gave her the car to drive for a few hours on Friday afternoon). The salesman said he tried to stop them from selling it to someone else and that he was over ruled by the manager, Sean Hanlin. Needless to say my friend was very upset. After she left the sale event today Sean Hanlin called her and apologized and tried to tell her he did not know about the deposit and that it was all a big mistake. We know from the salesman's statement this morning that what Sean said was not truthful. I was also going up today to check out the car and to see if they had a car I wanted. We were both paying CASH. My friend and I would never buy a car from this group because of their seriously questionable ethics. Beware of the Berlin City Auto Group. It appears they have no issues with misrepresenting the truth. They have lost 2 sales this weekend from us.
