Got a phone call on Friday from a Mealey's salesperson advertising a
15% off weekend sale. I was excited as I need to furnish a shore house.
Went to the Warminster Mealey's the next day, Saturday. Told the
salesperson that we got the call about the 15% off. She informed us
that it was only a Friday sale. She went to speak with her manager and
came back saying the manager won't let her give the 15% off. She asked
if we wanted to speak with him. We said sure. The manager was Ray and
the nicest way I can describe him is RUDE. We explained that the
salesperson on the phone said it was a weekend sale. He was very irate
when he told us that he watched all his salespeople make the phone
calls and that they all said the sale was for Friday. I told him the
salesperson told me it was a weekend sale and if I was told it was only
on Friday I would've come in the day before. He said "do you know how
many more sales I could have had today if I let the sale go on till
today?" I asked if I called there corporate office if they could extend
the sale to me since I was given the wrong information. He barked,
"this is corporate". I was made very uncomfortable by his harsh tone
and the crazy look in his eyes. I walked a distance away and then asked
him his name. Ray, that is no way to treat a customer! We wanted to
purchase about 10k worth of furniture for our beach house and I am
sorry to say that I don't feel comfortable purchasing it from you.
