J and J TOWING literally stole/carnapped my car and held it ransom

J and J towing is the biggest fraudulent towing company I have ever dealt with. They illegally towed my car from an apartment complex, although it was parked in an open parking spot. The funniest thing is, I entered the apartment complex behind the tow truck... So he must have been salivating, probably thinking of the eight ball he could buy, as he saw someone with a Florida license plate park in a perfectly legal parking spot in front of the laundry facility.

I was bringing a friend, who lives in the complex, a ride home from work, and went in for about 40 minutes, only to find my car stolen. That's right, stolen! I called the austin police department, and, surprise, the police have no juridiction. I guess people need to rise up and show the towing company that if they're going to take illegal measures... And get away with it... Then we should be allowed to take action against J and J any way necessary. I was told I could file a report and have a detective assigned to the case within a few days, but nothing could really be done... It's between the apartment complex and J and J.

When I contacted the tow truck company, they were arrogant, cocky bastards that knew that they were crooked thieves. They told me they had pictures, which proved to be only of my license plate and my car in a parking spot that didn't show proof of anything for either side's argument. The crazier part, they wanted $192 for stealing my car. I paid them $200 and they didn't even have change, how is that allowed?! I am new to the area, don't know really anyone other than the people I work with, and had to find a ride to a place that is well hidden and out of the way for even the people that live in the area.

As if all of this wasn't enough, I awoke to a flat tire (passenger rear) which could be a coincidence, but more likely than not stemmed from the illegal towing and the yard the car was then parked in. There is a possibility there was tampering done to the vehicle, since my talks on the phone with him were not very pleasant. I was supposed to work a double which couldn't happen, thanks to the flat, and I got minimal sleep thanks to having to find J and J's lot. I had worked the night before until late and was supposed to be doing it all over again. I was punished for doing nothing wrong. I paid $200, inconvenienced co-workers to find the car, lost a full day of work (minimum $150 for a double), received a flat tire, and am told that nothing can really be done.

Well, I am an Italian from outside Philadelphia, Pa whom refuses to allow them to get away with such blatant theft. The police aren't helping, but the courts may. The more people that come forward with proof of this illegal activity will only help solidify justice being served to this company. The guy working the counter at J and J's told me they were robbed recently. Kharma's a bitch. Unfortunately they robbed me and others, apparently, to make up for it. I am not afraid to return the favor to them. They made my life hell for absolutely no legal reason, so, I MUST do everything in my legal rights to have them burn and to make sure their business goes FLAT.

If my co-workers hadn't loaned me the money, the ransom would've doubled to $384 the following day, increasing each day thereafter. So, it is very probable that, without my co-workers' financial help (I just moved to Austin and am trying to get established), J and J would own my vehicle because it would be more and more impossible for me to get it back due to the price. Therefore, it was nothing short of true theft. There needs to be more laws to make tow truck drivers more liable. There are plenty of vehicles that are parked illegally everyday in any parking lot. Why would they feel the need to steal a car from a predominantly lower-classed and Mexican apartment complex? If anyone knows of any way that I can get proof of their business records in terms of cars towed and the apartment complexes residents effected, please notify me so I can back my previous question / theory. I was just giving a co-worker a ride home and was not parked illegally. There is a lot of none-sense surrounding this situation and I have nothing better to do than figure this all out and truly prosecute the company (ies) involved in this money racket that is being allowed in this, otherwise, great city of Austin.
