Complaint / Review
Nationwide Auto Transporters, Inc
Don't ever use them as carriers

I relocated from PR to NJ and needed a company to transport my car. I requested quotations by e-mail and received five. Of these, the best was from Nationwide Auto Transporters, Inc. As they promised to deliver my car in NJ in 7-9 days.

I asked the salesman if this was guaranteed as many companies stated that this would not be possible and Mr. Bennerson assured me his company was able to do so. This was my first time shipping a vehicle out of PR.

At first I was asked to pay the amount in full, since I lived outside the US and I did so. The day before I was supposed to send my car, I called Mr. Bennerson for instructions to turn over my car to Nationwide. It was 2:00 PM and I still didn't have these instructions. At 7:30 PM, after calling several times, I received an e-mail with a list of 10 things I was supposed to do before bringing my car to the port. It was supposed to be there, a three-hour drive from my home, by 3:00 PM. I spent the morning doing the papers and got to the place in the port at 3:00 PM. While I was there waiting, I was asked for a booking number, which I didn't have, so I called Mr. Bennerson for this number. It turned out that the number Mr. Bennerson gave me was not the correct 'booking number' for his company. I called Mr. Bennerson again and then he realized, after checking his documents, that he'd sent me to the wrong place.

Now I was supposed to run to the right place to see if they were still open to try to leave my car there. If not, all the papers I'd prepared were going to expire, since there would be two holidays after that day. I made it, but then I was told my car would not get shipped until the next week. Still, I left the car there on July 24. My car was supposed to arrive in Miami a week later and then, two days later, it would be delivered in my home.

I was supposed to receive my car on Friday, August 8. As of today, August 15, I am yet to receive my car. The car is already SEVEN DAYS LATE and I continue waiting.

Today, at 7:30 PM, the truck driver called to tell me the car will not be delivered until tomorrow because of problems he had with a tire. Now he is supposed to arrive in NJ tomorrow night. Should I believe him? I'm very disappointed with all this. On top of all this, the last time I spoke with Mr. Bennerson, he told to stop calling him and contact the company's Client Services in the future. What aservice!

After all this, it is my opinion that Nationwide Auto Transporters, Inc. Should be penalized or, at least, accused in public forums so that any potential clients will be aware of the type of service they can expect from this company.
