On Sunday 08/10/08, I pumped 6.967 gallons of regular unleaed at pump #6 into my vehicle. My tripometor was at 130.8. That is 18.77 mpg. I drive my care 400 miles a week and track my mileage with virtually every fill up. I always reset my tripometer and calculate my mileage on each fill up based on the amount it takes to fill it. I divide the miles on the tripometer by the gallons to fill up. My vehicle get anywhere from 22 to 26 miles per gallon depending on my driving habits, i.E. Speed. I drive the same route Monday - Friday. I have been tracking my mileage since I purchased the vehicle this past January. My maintenance is up to date.
I contacted the 800-HELP-FLA and filed a complaint. I was told they would check the pump, but since they have a number of vacant positions they could not give me any indication on when this would be done. This gas station recently renovated and has new pumps. I suspect the new pumps have not been calibrated. Even at my worst MPG of 22 it should not have taken more than 5.945 gallons to fill up. I was ripped off by 1.022 gallons. I paid 3.939 per gallon. I was ripped off to the tune of $4.025. At nearly four dollars a gallon and the fact that big oil is getting rich beyond their wildest dreams this is ridiculous.
Do not patronize this gas station unless you want to get ripped-off.
