AutoPartsGiant.com This Site Does Not Give Refunds For Faulty Merchandise!

This company started out fairly good, and turned into a real nightmare Real Quick! I purchased a air pump for my Corvette, and later that day discovered I did not need it, and immediately contacted Auto Parts Giant to cancel, only to be told that the order had already been processed, and could not be canceled. After waiting over two weeks to get the part, I then called to see if I could return the unopened box, and was told that they don't normally take electrical parts back, but since unopened, they would give me a full store credit toward other parts, (sounded fair at the time), of $227.00. After returning the part, I had a diagnostic check run on the car by the dealer, and was told I need a new ECM, (engine computer), so I went to order a NEW one, which Auto Parts Giant showed they had in stock! Here's where it gets good, (or in my case, a nightmare)! Instead of giving the $227.00 credit toward the new part, which cost $339.00, they refunded the $227.00 less 20% restocking fees after they, charged my credit card $339.00 THREE TIMES! For a total of $1017.00, (plus the $227.00 was still on the card yet). After incurring overdraft charges, I did manage to get the three charges taken off, and then went to use the store credit again, (which at this time did not know that they were going to refund that too, less that 20%), and was told I could not get the new one because it was no longer available, and I would have to take a refurbished one, which I did, only so I could use that credit up! When I didn't receive any confirmation, (or the part), I called to see what happened, and was told that they were having trouble charging the card, (I wonder why, can you say OVERDRAFT because of Auto parts Giant), and like a dummy needing the part, I put it on one of my other credit cards. Well it was then that they refunded the original store credit, (less the 20%), and proceeded to charge the other card the full amount of $296.39, (part was $146.00, plus a $150.00 core charge). After finally getting the part, and installing it, The New Refurbished Part failed the first time I took the car out, and I ended up having it flatbeded to the dealer, to have a NEW part put in, so I could drive the car this summer! Upon contacting Art at Auto Parts Giant, he said that they normally don't give a refund, but in this matter they would, and to send the part back to his attention. After returning it, and being confirmed, he said it would take 15 working days before it would be credited back to my account. I waited and waited, but no credit. Finally after a week later that it was supposedly credited to my account, I contacted the supervisor, Jon. He told me that even though it was a bad computer, that I would have to prove to him that I had the computer replaced. At that point I was able to get my core charged back, which I now have, but as far as the actual part price refunded, I do not have the dealer receipt, (but do have the credit card receipt from the dealer), which he would not accept. So, at this time, I'm out the $146.00 for a part that was worse that the part I was replacing, and the difference between the original store credit that was refunded less that 20%, for a total of nearly $200.00 These people are very hard to get a hold of, and can get quit rude, (that's if they don't hang up on you, which happened several times)! This site may sound like a bargain for car parts, But Stay Away, Unless You Like Being Ripped Off!
