Gibraltar transmissions advertises free air condition check. They checked my air conditioning and told me I needed to replace my compressor which would cost $500 just for the compressor alone and that I had a leak. The owner, Steve Gibraltar was telling that it was going to be in the ballpark of $1000. I did not want to one grand to repair my a/c.
He tried to charge me $120 for checking the A/C despite that he has a big sign in front of his garage which says "FREE AIR CONDITIONING CHECK". I told him that I didn't have to pay it, and Gibraltar said that "You have to pay something". I paid him $75 and disputed it on my credit card providing photo evidence and bills from Gibraltar and my Saab mechanic.
Keep in mind that Gibraltar is not Saab certified and Saab can be a tricky car to fix. I own a Saab 9-3, so I went to my trusted Saab certified mechanic who is half an hour drive from me called Swedish Car Service. He fixed my Air conditioning for $250 including labor citing that A/C system needed to be recharged, needs refrigerant, and a leak. Gibraltar is a lying crook, avoid at all costs!
