Inc. Ladies Warning! KC AUTO employees liars and they rip you off!

I took my car in on 6/12/08 because my motor was overheating and the temperature guage was running high. I clearly explained to the manager, Michael Willette, that my car was over heating and the air conditioner kept coming on and off. I used a hand motion to explain the the temperature would rise when the car was idle and in stop and go traffic and I rose my arm to explain that when I get on the highway the teperature goes back to normal.

He asked me where the gauge toggles and I told him it moves in between halfway and 3/4 of the way to being completely overheated. I even made a comment to him that I was afraid that my engine was going to blow up. He then made a joke and I joked back, "That is not funny, I had a car catch on fire on me one time." He said not to worry and he would look into it. I was told my car would not be ready until the next day.

At 4 P. M, the next day, I called to check on my car and I was told by Michael that he just hadn't got to it. I was told it would be ready on Monday Finally, on 6/16/08 I called Michael around noon to see where he was at. He said he still hadn't got to it, but I was next on the list. He said he would call me back.

At 4 P. M I still had heard nothing, so I called him back. He told me it was an extensive process because he had a guy looking at it and needed to obtain the necessary purchase order numbers in order to bill automaster for the repairs and fax the bill over to them for approval of charges. Next, I explained, "I do not have a warranty. My car is 7 years old and this is coming out of my pocket." He asked me, "You don't have an automaster car?" I said NO. He then said, "Well, I will get this done fast."

The next day he called me around 1130 he called me and told me that I needed my blower motor replaced and a oil sensor which is why my oil light was coming off. He qouted me a rate of 362.00. Because he is the expert, and I am a lady who knows nothing about cars, I authorized the repair thinking it would fix my overheating problem.

When I went to pick up my car, I drove around the block and noticed it was still overheating. I took it back immediately and asked to talk to Mike. He wasn't around, so I talked to Nate who looked at the temperature guage and and said that the temperature normally rises when the air conditioning is on. Mike came out after that and looked at it and I pointed to the guage and he said that was normal as well. I left.

The next day, I was driving around town, in stop and go traffic, and the car started overheating again. My husband and I drove the car to his shop immediately and pointed out the problem. Mike laughed and said, "well young lady, your problem is a faulty coolant fan." I furrowed my brow and said, "I thought that is what you were fixing?" He said, "No mam, "I thought you wanted your air conditioning fixed, so I replaced the blower fan in the air conditioning."

At this point, I started to get frustrated. I told him that I was concerned about my engine burning up, not my air conditioner. He said, "You said the car was getting hot and you wanted it fixed. I though you meant the temperature of the air in the car, so that is what I fixed." He went further and said that he writes complete tickets and he wrote on the ticket I wanted my blower fan fixed. I explained to him that I didn't know the difference of a blower fan and a coolant.

He offered to look at it for free to diagnose the overheating. I left it with him overnight. The next day, he informed me it was the coolant fan and that it would be 400.00 to fix. I called the owner, Kelly, and tried to explain to him that his mechanic/manager mislead me and replaced a part I didn't need fixed. He stood by his employee and said, "It is all about the ticket he writes up."

Anyways, I later got a call from MIke and he proposed a solution. He said he could put the replaced part back in my car and refund my money. I asked him, "Can you put replaced part back and put the other part in and I can pay the difference."? He said, "No, that first option was the only option." These guys took advantage of my limited knowledge of cars.

The manager, Michael, has a very condescending attitude towards women and spends more time flirting with you then listening to what your problem actually is. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! They will not listen clearly to what you are needing and will overcharge you because of it.!
