So I called the owner the next day 9/3/09 and purchased the vehicle and had it towed to sonnys auto service Theopher N Leghus shop. The next morning he started working on the car first replacing the water pump, thermostat, pulley and belt. Which were the obvious? He called me later that day asking for $250 dollars for the labor of that job. Then he said that there was a leak coming from a freeze plugs which are located behide the transmission and he would need to remove the engine and transmission to fix that issue. Before he started this task I asked him, should I buy a new engine instead? Are you sure this cars engine and head gasket are good? He said, Yes, they are good I have worked on this model Cadillac before and the problem is the freeze plug. He assured me that by fixing the freeze plugs it would fix the problem. I trusted his expertise so he began working on the freeze plugs. He told me that he would need time to complete it. He didnt give a time period. I was optimistic and waited a month. He called me on 10/1/09 and told me my car was ready. I went to pick up my car, he took my brother and I on a short test drive on old harmony road, speeds less than 50mph the car seemed to be fine. Other than a few indications on the dash indicating the car needed coolant and the temperature gauge slightly rising. He told us those are from the car not being driving in a while. They will reset and as for the temperature gauge raising slightly the fans should kick in any minute to correct that my brother suggested he should drive the car down to his home in Smyrna for a final test especially at highway speeds. The next day 9/2/09 he called and said he drove the car from his shop in Newark to Smyrna and the car was good and ready to go come pick up your car. We went back to the shop we looked over the car one last time when I checked the coolant reserve it was low I asked him why is it low he said your car didnt have a bleeding screw to release the air in the cooling system so I would have to add coolant every week until all the air comes out of the system. He told me that shouldnt be anything to worry about. So he went ahead and he told me the total cost of the repairs were $1700 I told him I had $1600 cash on me and he agreed to accept that. We paid and drove off thinking the car was fixed. Driving from his shop on old harmony rd. To route 7 the cars temperature shoot up indicating the car was overheating. I tried calling him multiply times, but got no answer. The next day I went to his shop and complained to him. Hes mechanic and himself looked over the car. And told us maybe they replaced the thermostat backwards. And that should be the cause of the problem. He told us he would take care of it; I left the car for him to correct the issue. A week later no word from him I went by his shop he told me he doesnt know what is wrong with it. I found my car on the inside of his shop with damage to the passenger side fender. I asked him what happened to my fender he didnt reply. My brother and I became frustrated and told him we would like a refund, as it was obvious he didnt know what he was doing. Theopher clearly was told what the issue that was causing the over heating was, and he chose to overlook it. I was angry because I spent over $2500 get my car fixed, it was frustrating to me that he lied that he had expert knowledge of Cadillac engines when he didnt and he was using my car to learn and experiment with. He is a fraudulent person, damaging my car and duplicating my car keys.
