I purchased a 6 month policy with Geico that ended May 12. On May 9th I paid for a new policy with another insurer that would take effect beginning May 13- the day after the Geico policy ended.
I received a bill today from Geico for coverage they provided through May 30th. They did not contact me to tell me that my coverage would be extended after the renewal date nor did they imply such in previous billings. The renewal notice simply stated that my policy was ending soon and I should contact them to renew it.
I refuse to pay this bill as I was already with a new policy and insurance company the day after my geico policy was supposed to be done. Not sure how to go about disputing this and I do not want to be a victim of Geico's shady collection practices either.
