Two years ago this February my wife (at that point fiance) leased a car from this Dealership-Nissan of South Everett. Right off the bat this place seemed like we may have some issues. The staff was very pushy, and reluctant to give us answers to basic questions on the lease. All they could tell us is that they were going to put us on lease for people with good credit. Turns out that they put us on a 5 Year lease on this car.
After we bought this vehicle the next day infact we called the dealership to see if we may able to bring the car back, since in California there is a law where you can take the car back within a certain time frame. The dealership was completely different, and the nice down to earth guy Damian who had sold us the car was a completely different person and was very rude towards my wife and I.
They basically told us since we had driven the car off the lot they would not take car back. We then took the lease info to both sets of our parents and they all decided that we had been scammed and ripped off big time. The risidual on this car would be very low on the car at the end of the lease, and we were charged way to much for the car. At the time we thought it was just a mistake and would have to live with it.
Now with increasing fuel costs we have tried several times to trade in the car for another more practical fuel efficient one. All the dealerships we have been too have asked us the same thing. "Who ripped you off like this"? We always say it was Performance Nissan of South Everett.
Just last weekend we took the car to try and trade it in again and the General Manager of the car dealership said "who would do such a thing"?"How do these people sleep at night, taking advantage of people like this"? Then he proceeded to say "I have been doing this for almost 30 years, and this is one of the worst deals I have ever seen".
We owe so much on the car because the dealership uped the price of the car and put us on a 5 year lease. We are basically locked into this lease. If we break the lease we have to pay for the lease purchase price, and if we try to trade in the car, we have to come up with about $14,000 dollars to absorb the negative equity that the banks will not finance. We owe two-three times what this car is worth.
We feel like we were grossly taken advantage of. We would like to get rid of the car but can't find the ways to. We would love to persue legal action as well but need to study up and see where we should start. We want people to know that they should not do business with this outfit as they are nothing but crooks with no mercy. Do not do business with these people, we were stung big time and don't want the same to happen to others.
