I Bought a 99 plymouth voyager minivan from a shady dealership called cj's car america, financed through credit acceptance. We were aware of the ridiculous 24.99 interest-we were desperate! (financial hardships caused our other car to be repoed and needed to find something fast!)
12 days in... The transmission broke. It took 4 weeks to fix! 2 months later the transmission went again! This time we were given a digusting loaner filled with garbage and sticky stains to drive around for the 2 months it took to fix!
So after everything is going ok... One day im driving my husband to work so i could go do errands. The van starts making a loud clunking noise under the hood. Just great. I go to pull out and make a right hand turn at a four way lighted intersection and cant turn!!! I turned the wheel as hard as i possibly could and came just short of hitting another car head on (with my 2 children in the back!) i swing aroung (carefully) back to my husband work and get him outside. The water pump pulley was busted and the belt for steering fell off and was dragging on the ground!!! The van was towed and fixed within 5 days (a little long for a friggen pulley!)
so fast forward about 2 months (only!) my husbands bringing me to work and all of a sudden the vans brakes on the passenger side start making a loud scraping noise. This time the caliper has froze and was smoking so we proceeded to hurry to cj's car america to have them fix the problem and give us a loaner. Like they did before. Well by the time we got there the rotor gad cracked completly in half and the brakes were on fire!!! There were flames and smoke pouring from the wheelwell. Now mind you we had at the time our 6 year old son and 4 month old daughter with us in the van! They were just about to close apparently and told us all of their loaner plates were gone.
So they proceeded to close up and leave us there stranded with no car and no way home with our two kids. Pretty much "oh. Sorry cant help... Bye!"
as the guy that has the last loaner plate walks out he looks at us and laughs all the way to his brand new SUV that could easily fit a stranded family in!
They left us there! What the f*ck!
So my huband walked 1 mile to a gas station in 90 degree heat (yeah it was hot too!) and a relative picked us up.
We call the next day, they tell us that when my husband put the brake pads on when he did the brakes he put them on backwards_not possible. And proceeded to verbally insult my husband saying hes an idiot and shouldnt be working on cars! Which isnt true he knows how to fix anything!:)
but mysteriously 2 days later after they looked at the van again they were going to fix it free of charge when apparently there was nothing wrong. They didnt want to admit they were wrong the brakes were bent up and had busted from a previous owner accident that we were unaware of.
We have encountered more over the last 2 years we have had this piece of sh*t. (really!) the ac motor broke, the transmission is leaking. Again, the master cylinder (braking system) broke and my husband hit the house -couldnt stop! The bearings replaced, the tie rods, the starter 4 times!!! The power steering pump hose was rigged with heat tape - it has a 7 inch gash that spits out fluid (we had to put a whole bottle in everyday!)
the stabilizer bar snapped in half while driving...
Credit acceptance wonders why our payments are always late, ummm itS probably because we are fixing the piece of junk every two months (or less)
they call with the automated line and hang up as soon as you pick up and then 15 seconds (literally!) later do it again and this goes on about 10 times a day EVERYDAY EVEN ON HOLIDAYS AND WEEKENDS.
Avoid credit acceptance at all costs and cjs car america of bridgeport ny!!! The will bend you over and screw you!
(without buying you a drink first!!!)
whew, that was alot to get off my chest...
