This company offered to match a price that another company had quoted, and to bait me in, they said they could pick the car up within the week. I gave them my $200 dep to my VISA. (No wonder they don't take American Express!) When my contract arrived, it was for the original price (not the one they had agreed to match.) I contacted my sales rep-LUIS MOLINA, and he said "No Problem, just sign the bottom, not the top of the contract."
The rest is history. After taking over 2 weeks to pick up the car, constant hounding, no returned phone calls, being placed on hold that rolls over to a voice mailbox, I finally was able to contact my actual car hauler. They were very nice guys, just independant haulers trying to make an honest living.
They would not adjust the price - they had contracted with NAT for a set fee, and anything I paid over was NAT's brokerage fee. I then set about trying to get my refund from LUIS MOLINA at NAT. Promised me 4 times (after about 20 times trying to get him!) Swore to me it was all taken care of and that a credit woud be issued to my VISA. Even have him on tape as he adjusts my envoice! Yeah right! (Your answering machine allows you to tape calls up to 3 mnutes) Bottom Line - I got my car hauled, but not for the promised price.
Next time I'll not worry about trying to save a nickel, and go with someone who is NOT a broker - someone who actually hauls the cars. PS - my credit card people didn't help one bit. They said since I had authorized to $200, thats what I had to pay.
