My husband purchased a Fiat Stilo Arbath 2006 model on the 14th of November - with 40 000 km's ont he clock. Being insured that the vehicle was still under the standard factory 100 000km warranty. The next day the car went back as there was areas we were not happy with! We were assured that it would be taken care of.
Namely a cracked windscreen and a clutch that was taking very high and also a broken door light. We were ssured the noisy area while driving was normal for these cars...

After a few days we phoned them again and told them the siren kept going off off asked when they would see and advise why the onboard computer kept saying service coupon out of date and also oil pressure low and turn off engine, engine failure while driving the damn car. They assured us that the car had been serviced and that we should not worry as the computer had not been updated and they would call us as to when it could be done.
In the meantime the alarm was sorted out.

Before they had even booked the car in and less than a month later, we had her towed in as the gears had failed and the car would not start. A stone dead car!
They sorted this out within a week and we asked if we should be required to pay anything in and we were told they carried the cost but relays were not covered and they would split the cost 50/50. We paid 50%.
We asked what was covered by the warranty and were told the second warranty offered which they claimed from replaced the factory one as the car has no full service history. You can imagine our shock and horror!
We would NEVER have purchaced a car without a factory warranty! Obviously we were done in!

Well, so be it and we had to accept our fate!
Low and behold - just over a month later the car broke down and once again at our cost we had her towed in to Fiat over a weekend. All this within three months of purchase.

Well she stodd there for three weeks and they called to say the engine had failed and the car requires a new engine at R68 000. We went to see them and asked why we were told to begin with the car had a full service history and was covered by the 3 year factory warranty.
Well, the Salesman has since left and no one seems to know anything!

We asked the parts manager to show us and talk us thorugh the manual from them to cover the engine etc.
He pointed out that there is a 100% engien cover and pointed to the paragraph. We asked what woudl cause the engine to fail and he simply said the previous owner must have driven the car real hard!

So there we were with egg on our faces, truly robbed of all dignity! They (Fiat) called us a week later to say that in fact the SA Warranty policy only covers R27500 and we must cough up the balance. Lied to again!

So we have now resorted to going to an attorney but in the meantime, the bank where we have stopped our debit order is wanting to sue etc. Fiat have gone to an attorney too but this coudl drag on forever!
I, the wife used the car only and they are now blaimng neglecting the car when in fact it never even did 1500 km's! All we want it for the deal to be cancelled! We were done in properly!

I have all the correspondence to carroborate what I have detailed. All the facts can be produced! FIAT SUCKS!
I hope that this can be read and they can be exposed for the liars they are! We traded in a Tiburon on this car and now have had to resort to buying a new car as we need two cars.
