Refuses to do warranty work that will require too much money out of their pocket

On June 23, we purchased a new 2007 Gulfstream Class A Independence Motorhome from Arrowhead RV in Marianna, Fl. We live in Louisiana. They were very anxious to sell this coach and made us an unbelievable deal. We brought it home and put it under the shed that we had used for our old motorhome which we traded to Arrowhead. We took it back to them on July 11 to have Trac Vision installed. On the way back home, the floor on the passenger side was getting wet from the dash a/c. It took until 8/1/08 to find out from Gulfstream where to take it. At that time the coach has 2022 miles, 1082 was on it when we bought it. (distance from Indiana to Florida) Gulf Stream would not pay for repairs, (the a/c hose was stopped up in that short of time) They said it was a maintenance issue. Everything with them is a maintenance issue.

They are not willing to pay for anything. They finally reimbursed us the cost. We took it out the week of 9/9/07 to 9/14/07. When the bedroom slide was in, it leaked. On 10/1/07 it was taken in to find the leak and the dealer could not find one. No more leaks yet because we keep it under its shed when at home and it did not rain again for awhile. On 11/11/07, we were out of town and the coach would not start. CoachNet would not pick it up because it was a Sunday and had no place to take it. They picked it up on Monday and took it too Hollingsworth Ford in Baton Rouge, La. Took them 10 days to find the problem and fix it. Fuel pump went out. It stayed out in the rain for several days and when we picked it up the carpet was wet again in the bedroom and the gasket/sealer was falling off the living room slide. It has been in the shop 5 times since then for the same leak which they could not find. The carpet has been soaked in the bedroom and the bottom of the walls and the bed base have also been wet. We took it back in to the local dealer on 2/11/08 after a week long camping trip and of course it rained and it got wet again. We picked it back up on 3/3/08 with the dealer assuring us it was fixed. Brought it home, parked it under its shed again, opened the slides and guess what, the carpet was wet. We never went through any rain and all of the holding tanks were empty. Called the dealer and took it back on 3/5/08. They found the leak while we waited.

On 3/12/08 a factory rep looked at it and told them the gasket/sealer was installed incorrectly from the factory and told them how to fix it. Picked it up again on 3/38 brought it home and put it back in its shed. We we due rain last night so we moved it out of the shed and the carpet is wet again this morning. On 3/24/08, I sent a FED EX letter overnight to Mr. Brian Shea, President and CEO of the Motorized Division and Mr. John Edgerton, Production Mananger of Gulfstream Coach Luxury Class.

On Wednesday 3/26/08, I spoke to Nicki Perkins who was handling this issue. I was told it was being looked at by upper management and she would get back to me. The following week after we had picked up our coach she called and told me that a factory rep had looked at it and said the local dealer could fix the problem, but if we insisted they would bring it back into the factory for repair. I told her that I was not thrilled at having 2000 miles put on it that were not from our use and wanted a letter in writing that if they chose not to replace the carpet, wall and bed base they would stand by the warranty after it ended if it developed a mold or mildew issue. She has not gotten back to me yet. I called this A.M. And left a message that I would be retaining a lawyer as we have done what was necessary and they had their last chance to fix it. Now they either have to give us a new coach or our money back. We would prefer a new coach. I told them that they could deliver the new one to my home and pick up the lemon that I now own. We have used it 24 days since June 23 and it has 3700 miles, 500 of those miles were round trip to the dealer for repairs which has not worked. I do have to say that the local dealer, Dixie RV Super Store in Hammond, LA has gone above and beyond in trying to help us. They ran plumbing checks more than once for which GulfStream has refused to pay them. They are excellent people to do business with.

We have been ripped off supremely by gulfstream and the dealer arrowhead rv sales from whom we purchased the coach. The coach sat on his lot about 4 months before we bought it and he had to know it was leaking when it rained.
