L.J. Patterson Sales And Service Gulfstream Coach Rv Dealer, And Manufacture Gulfstream Coach
I purchased new, I should have purchased used, rip me off! Ripoff

I purchased a new 2005 Mako (luxury) 28FRBH Travel Trailer in April from a local Gulfstream dealer L.J. Patterson Sales and Service in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. At end of 10 years I will have paid 53,491.93 for this unit. As of today, I have used the unit 18 nights. Here is where the fun began.

I've had problems since the beginning, the trailer has been in service more than I've had it home. Here are some of the problems I've had:
1.2 broken drawers (face)
2.2 boken frames for the drawers (due to lack of screws)
3. Missing screws in ceiling fan, scared to use it.
4. Missing screws throughout interior and exterior of unit, the screws that were there were in sideways.
5. Slide out ceiling caved in at dealership, when service man walked on it.
6. Dinette table unstable.
7. Moldings on interior fell off.
8. Missing folding door between livingroom and bathroom.
DOES'T SOUND LIKE ANYTHING TOO MAJOR, DOES IT? HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT, TO SEE WHAT COMES NEXT
9. Sewer tanks leaks
10. Slide out, out of adjustment, it bang and bongs in use
11. Rubber around exterior of slide out buldging, do to the adjustments needed for the slide out.
12. Screws in slide out making holes into the trailer.
13. Shower leaked into floor and compartment below, causing mildew on carpeting.
14. Back door leaked onto the floor cause cushion floor to lift and the floor below to warp.
15. Couch cushion separated from frame, when made flat the buldge in middle,
16. Couch frame rubbing on dinette wall, causing visable damage to panelling.
17. Faulty floor underneath bathroom, due to missing floor joicts. It creeks and cracks and drops a couple in inches when stood on.
18. Gas leak in front storage unit, In valves or hozes.
19. Glue on walls and floor in bunkhouse, from the cushion floor installation.
20. Couch material faided already.
21. Caulking all over exterior of unit, just sloppy.
22. Siding collasped underbelly by fifth wheel hitch.

These are a few things that went wrong with our "NEW" mako, it has been to the dealer several times for service but wasn't repaired properly, even to gulfstreams specs.

At August, I've had to I demanded my money back. I didn't want their garbage. I would gladly play for the price of a rental, but refund me my money. The dealer L.J. Patterson said his only job was to fix the unit, and they couldn't even do that right. I then started dealing with gulfstrean head office with John Smith.

What we were trying to do then was get me into another unit, because mine was made on Friday. The dealer wanted nothing to do with me, now that he has my money. The dealer said gulfstream owed them over 60,000.00 already, and he is not taking another loss. I said I dont care about what you and gulfstream have going on, I have my own problems. Couldn't get anywhere.

I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, I'm not sure why they are there for, definately not the consumer. At present time Gulfstream is trying to make a deal with L.J. Patterson on getting me into another unit, but I think they are jsut blowing me off. It's been going on a long time, and I'm getting a lot of money into this unit with payments, and I cant take a 10 thousand dollar loss.

Talk to 4 lawyers, it will take 10-15,000.00 to sue dealer and manufacture and I will only recover 4,000.00 in lawywers fees. I talked to consumer affairs, but they only offer advice.

I need help, I've purchased a 50,000.00 lemon, and there is no rights for the consumer for rv's. So buyer beware, New does mean anything anymore, I have the same problem if I would have purchased used. Any advice?
