Monaco Coach Corp
Ripoff

In October of my wife and I bought a 2003 Monaco motorhome from Colton RV in North Tonowanda NY. On our first trip in November of that year the coach was beeping constantly and the jacks down warning and low air warning would come on. We called tech support and they told us it must be a sensor, don't worry and take it to a dealer when we returned home. It was raining at the time. We then noticed the instrument gauges fogging up from the inside, and we added this to our list. Except for the beeping, which was incessant during the rain, the trip went well considering. We found two water leaks, and wood that had been drilled in the wrong place and put up anyway. There were so many things wrong we thought Quality control had the week our coach was made off. When we arrived home we took it to a dealer for repairs for the beeping and such. It was in the shop from Dec. 9 till Jan. 22. The shop told us it was repaired. When I left for Florida in early Feb. The rain began around Washington and so did the beeping. While in Florida we found other things wrong with the coach. Came home at end of Feb.in rain and beeping. Coach went into another repair shop from April 12 to May 22. Went back in on June4 came out on Sept. 29. Picked up coach on Oct. 4and it was raining out. We drove about ten miles when the beeping returned, so we turned around and returned the coach to the repair shop. Coach was ready and we were guaranteed it was fixed. This was Oct. 10. Next rain we had was Oct. 27 We brought coach back on Nov. 3 and picked it up on Jan. 2. On March 20 took coach out in the rain and guess what? Right. It still beeped. So it was never repaired.

The coach was out of service for 275 days in the first year. During this time we brought three seperate Lemon Law suits the first was cancelled because my expert witness could not make it. This was the day before the hearing. Later found out he did warranty work for Monaco. The second was cancelled because we were assured coach was fixed. Monaco offered me cash and a three year warranty, my lawyer said to accept it provided the coach was fixed. It wasn't, so we filed another Lemon Law suit. Monaco sued me (for the second time I might add) saying we had made a deal. This went on for about 6 months and the Supreme Court Judge ruled we did not have a settlement since no papers were signed. We went to arbitration in June and we won the Lemon Law suit. They were instructed to pay us the price on the bill of sale. They did and then immediately appealed the ruling. The Supreme Court judge ruled in their favor and using only their numbers, figured we owed them $49,000. He said I made a windfall profit. After I paid off the loan, the lawyer, and all other expenses which totaled $51,000 I was already in the hole. Where was I going to come up with $49,000? Then without warning, Monaco, a multi-million dollar rv company froze all my bank accounts. That happened on July 18. We have had only the money in our pockets to live on for two weeks now. I am finding it almost impossible to get a bond and even if I do Monaco can cash it in whenever they want to, and the way they treated me I know they would do it sooner rather than later. The only thing I heard from them was I was never going to win a lemon law suit against them. Does this sound like a company that has the customer in mind? We had to make payments, keep insurance and registration fron Oct. Of 2002 till July.

They have us in a vise, we can't cash a check and we can't get any money out of our accounts. As a result of this judgement against us, several checks have bounced and we fear it will ruin our excellent credit rating.in 35 years of marriage we have never bounced a check. They have frozen our retirement checks and my Social Security Disability check. We need help! When the judge overturned the arbitrators award he made history because it had never been done before and this will set aside the lemon law in almost all states according to Monaco's law firm. This ruling was in their ad within a week of the decision. The little guy gets it again and big business wins as uaual.
