Raymond Daiss Service Center & Garage
Fraud Alert!

On January 24th, my 2001 Honda Accord was towed to Raymond Daiss Service Center. The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police had recovered it because it was stolen from my home two days earlier. After receiving the police report and contacting my insurance agent, I attempted to get my car. Bubba Daiss, owner of the service center, approached me and said that they could repair the car good as new. I agreed for them to do the repair work and then I had the insurance company fax them the appraisal. The appraisal stated that this job was going to take 4-business days.

Several weeks go by and I call and inquire about my vehicle. Everytime I called, the receptionist would tell me someone would call me back. No one did, so I kept calling them. Everytime I would be lied to by Bubba Daiss about they are waiting for a part or something else. When I asked what is the holdup and why is everything taking so long, all he could say was we are waiting for parts. All the while I thought to myself, "Isn't Honda a popular car in America? There should be plenty of parts available!" Next time I call, Mr. Daiss states that they have to straighten out the frame and that it would be ready soon.

At this time I am getting tired of all the lies, so I appear at the shop and asked him what work have they already performed on my car. He could not produce anything for me. I then asked for the insurance appraisal and he made a copy for me. Another thing that was suspicious was that everytime I would show up at the shop, Mr. Daiss would always say, "Oh you are the one with the $2500 deductible." What difference should that make? I want the work done right and I was prepared to pay for it. I then asked to see the car and he takes me into the back and shows me the car. He then says it should be ready soon and that he would not release it until he is satisfied with it.

Here it is March and I am furious that my car is still not ready. I started calling constantly and no one would return my call. I then came to the shop on March 14th and said that I'm here to get my car. The receptionist asked if I received a call that it was ready and I told her no one ever calls me back. She then calls Mr. Daiss to the office. He said that he had to fix the steering wheel problem and that it would be ready later this afternoon. I then asked to see the car and he said that the technician took it to test it. I left the lot. Shortly there after they called me and said that the car was ready.

Well, I picked my car on the 14th of March. I looked it over and when I went to go pay for it, I asked Mr. Daiss if he could give me a print out of the work performed on the car. This is my second request for this. He still did not give me one. All he said was "Whatever is on the insurance appraisal is what we did." I never knew a business establishment that would not give you a receipt for services rendered. When I was about to write a check, he was adamant about not taking it, that they could only take credit or debit card. I then paid $2,096.00 in full on my check debit card.

Prior to my wife driving off the lot in the car, Mr. Daiss' employees were standing in a croud together watching us as we left their lot. I really thought that was strange, since we didn't have celebrity status. Not a block down the road, my wife stops the car and complains that the brakes are spongy and that a hissing noise is coming from the engine compartment. The following day, we both notice that engine components begin to bulge from the bottom of the car. We also notice that the Die Hard battery we had in the car was replaced by some cheap replacement.

I took my car on March 18th to my personal mechanic. I told him about the hissing noise from the engine and he said that it sounded like leaking air. I also had him screw the bottom plate underneath the car because that was loose and the engine components underneath were bulging.

On Saturday, I took my Honda to the local dealership where I purchase it to have it inspected by an authorized Honda service technician. What he found was incomplete, subpar work and stated that whoever did this did not do a good job. He stated that the car still has major problems and that we were fortunate to not have gotten into another accident while driving it, due to the fact that the engine components could have dropped out from underneath. The frame of the car is still bent not to mention other problems. He gave me a list of items that should have have been repaired by Raymond Daiss Service Center. He also recommended that we not drive the car after until it is repaired.

On Monday, March 24th, I drove to Daiss Service Center and asked Mr. Daiss for a refund for the work that they didn't do. He said that he couldn't do that. He then asked me who told me that the work wasn't right and I gave him a copy of the diagnosis from the Honda dealership. He just shrugged his shoulder and said any place can make those assumptions. I then asked him for a printout of the work that they performed on my car (Third request). His answer was still the same, that he did what was on the insurance appraisal. He then tells me to bring in the car. If he didn't do what was right in 7-weeks what should have been done in 4 days, what makes me think he is going to do it right this time? I asked about his warranty and he said that it is warrantied for 1 year. This was the worst customer service experience in my life!

I will never take my vehicle back to Raymond Daiss Service Center, if it is the last collision center in Savannah, GA. Their business card states "We're Fast... We're Good... We're Complete", I beg to differ on all three statements. They are not fast, they are not good, and they are not complete.

I am requesting that I get a refund on the work that was never performed that I paid for within a couple of days. If not, I have no other choice than to seek civil litigation to resolve this injustice.
