Credit Acceptance
Company refused to help out after dealership refused to help me

I got a car from a local dealership. The car had a full waranty according to the buyers guide i even bought an extended waranty and gap insurance. I was told that all repairs would be covered. I may owe like 100.00 for towing if nessaceary but that was all i would owe. As soon as i have a major breakdown just 6 months later i was told by he dealership that they would not honor the warranties or extended service contracts. It apparantly would not cover the transmission that went out. But what about my radiator, oil pump and steering that i had trouble with as well. Apparantly the contract was not worth the paper it was written on.

I stopped paying for the car and credit acceptance wanted to know why. I told them until i get repairs for my full warranty i will not pay. They harrassed me for four months for payments. Someone finally contacted me from there to tell me how to get service but see by the time i got help not only was the car towed from my apartment complex because it was inoperable they told me it was MY fault for not being more aggressive in getting them to help me.

More aggressive i was calling them daily asking for help. They were even calling me daily. I even told them to come take the car as a repossession and they had the nerve to say they would not take an inoperable car back. Even though it was not my own car. I was leasing it through them. The dealership would not talk to me. I refused to pay and they refused to take it back because it was inoperable. They had 4 months to reposess it.

An attorny i talked to in utah said i had just been ripped off by credit acceptance for them not helping me and the dealer breached the contract by not honoring the warranties. Yet they continue to ruin my credit even though the car is now gone. It has been another 2 months since the car has been towed. Is there anything i can do to get them to reverse my bad credit rating caused by them and get some apologies from the dealership and credit acceptance. I don't nessacerally want a new or used car i just want my credit restored because no one would honor there contracts or help me when i had the car.

If i still had the car i would feel a bad credit rating might still be deserved especially if repairs had been done on it and i still had the car.

Is there any legal remedies i should have tried? I am curious what i could do in the future if this was to ever happen again? I am sure i am not the first person to have a situation like this but i may be the first to admit i may have been partly at fault. But i do not believe the blame is entirely mine. After all i am not the one who did not honor the warranty and i am not the one who would not reposses the car back or give advice to help
