I bought a trail blazer 02/09. I traded in a car of course. I had extended warrenty on my car and they said they would buy back the remainding. Okay, I transfered my tags and paid over 900.00 for tax, tags etc. It is now 03/09 and I get a phone call from the county treasures office. They said they usuall don't call the customers but she had an issue with Carmax. She said Carmax sent her a check that was not the correct amount for taxes and tags. Well, she said the girl at Carmax said she would call her back. Never did. So she called again. Got the same excuse and still no phone call back regarding this situation. The girl from the county treasure office told me my tags where now expired. FYI, it is illegal to drive on expired tags. So I called Carmax myself and asked why this situation was not delt with promptly. They had no excuse but that the girl was new at her job. OMG! They continued to tell me to drive anyways on my expired tag and if I was to get pulled over and fined that they would pay for the ticket and fine. FYI, it is illegal. I told them I am a military wife and if I was to get pulled and found out of a expired tag, I would get arrested. They had nothing to say but I will call you back. Mind you I am missing work because I cannot drive my truck. The guy who sold me the truck called me and I told him what was going on and he went to find out what was going to happen. He told me they told him the same thing. They told him I could drive on an expired tag and they would pay if I where to get pulled. He told them as well (FYI he is a marine) he said she would get arrested if pulled on post. It is now 03/14 and still they have not sent Riley County Treasures office the right amount check so I can get my tags. They offered my husband a twenty dollar oil change for our troubles. LOL
I am sure this will go onto next week. They refuse to pay me for my days of missed work. They say Carmax don't do that sort of thing.
NO, they just screw you over.
