For the last several months I have been getting calls offering extended automobile warranties. They have a voice mail choice to opt out but it is ignored.
I finally "went along" and talked to their "finance manager", who was hard at work at 7 PM EDT. He pitched the warranty claiming it was backed by DuraLube and NASCAR. The FTC tried to put DuraLube out of business at least as far as advertising claims are concerned but they appear to still be selling oil additives.
GWS' web site, to which he referred me when I asked for a copy of the warranty, looks fake. The 2 page warranty brochure had no address on it, etc., a joke.
I haven't been able to determine if this boiler room is connected with DuraLube, and another "additive" shows up if you hunt around for DuraLube, Motorcoat. It appears to be a total fake.
If you do an Internet Search for Duralube you see the FTC action and their sponsorship of NASCAR races prior to ~1999. It is likely GWS is just hitching a ride on the Internet presence of DuraLube.
The brochure also claims they have an AM Best rating (insurance company rater). Not likely.
I don't think they are going to stop calling unless they get shut down.
