No responsibility on ice

This company denied my claim after my car was struck by one of their insured. He was making a right turn and slid accross traffic and struck me while I sat at a red light waiting to make a left turn. They claim he isn't responsible because he slid due to icy roadways that had not been salted (when I learned to drive we called that driver negligence if you lost control making a turn).
