I was recently in an accident with a person insured by Apollo Casualty in Des Plaines Illinois, as well as a third person. The person insured by Apollo caused the accident (and was ticketed by the police) that sent the third person smashing into my car, causing a good amount of damaged.
While giving reports to my insurance and talking with the third person's insurance, Apollo never made any attempt to contact me. I had to go to court in order to get the company name and policy number. While in court the person (insured by Apollo) admitted guilt of the accident to the judge.
The policy I had on my car did not included comprehensive. I had to deal with Apollo.
Trying to get a hold of someone at Apollo Casualty was like pulling teeth. I would call several times a day only to be put on hold for minutes. One time I was on hold for 35 minutes (left it on speaker) before it finally disconnected me, nor was I ever allowed to leave messages. This went on for about a week. I recorded the call times and details of what happened after a while.
After all this, I finally found, thru the help of my insurance company, that Apollo denied my claim, stating that the third person hit my car and was not the fault of their insured.
I then contacted the Illinois Division of Insurance who then contacted Apollo. The statement given was the same by Apollo, as to the third person striking me. They also added that MY CELL PHONE kept cutting them off while they were CAREFULLY checking my claim and trying to get ahold of me. (Like I could afford all the daytime minutes waiting). They also stated I only called them once.
I have run into some pretty bad business in my experiences, but never one so bad I would write something like this. The State should shut places like this down so honest people do not get taken advantage of.
Terrible company, absolutely the bottom of the pile. Stay far away!
