I purchased a 2000 Ford Taurus in 2006. Three days after the warranty ends you guessed it there goes the engine. I had another almost $3000 added on to my loan.
I had always paid my account with them in advance. Unfortunatley, I was laid off shortly after the engine blew. I thought the responsible thing to do is go and talk to the manager about my situatation. A women came to meet me and identified herself as the manager.
I explained my problem. She took a look at my account and could clearly see I paid as promised without skipping a beat.in her best customer service voice (LOL) she informed me there was nothing she could do and I should try and borrow the money from someone.
My husband and I was prepared to make living adjustments to get our bills under control. We were late about a month and guess who starts calling.
We talked to a bill collector from drivetime and arranged to go in and speak with her about the loan on the car. Only when they did not see any payments on my account they started to offer all kind of options. Got rid of the car.
