Recently I took my car into Cottman transmissions for an intermittent shifting problem with my trans. First they said they would do a test for free to figure out what was wrong, no problem there. A day later I get a call saying that they have to open up my trans to find out what was wrong and that it would cost me $375.00 to open it. I said ok. Then the next call is "you need a new transmission, it will cost $1900. Thats a little much but if you guarantee your work, go for it. Now here is where it goes bad. After I paid $2050.00
the very next day my transmission does the exact same thing I brought it in for. So naturally I take it back. Now he says its the transmission computer and that my model car has issues with the computer when it overheats. Ok, now you are the transmission experts, you know my model car has problems with the trans cpu, why would you not check that from the beginning. All I know is my car is doing the very same thing when I brought it in $2050 dollars later. He can't prove to me that he rebuilt the transmission. After arguing about the issue He has me on the run around saying he's going to find me another computer.
Bottom line, They are costing me money in my business and endangering my, and others lives. Do not go to Cottman Transmissions on holland road. Im tired of being taken advantage of.
