My mother has been sick for some time now, off and on and in and out of the Hospital and at the same time her car started running rough.
I have a brother who also lives in Anniston and he has had some major health problems of his own. He had taken the car to "Leon's One Stop" in Oxford (256) 835-1989. The owner told him he would check it out and my brother has called him from time to time and he is always getting a different story.
We had a tune up done on the car recently but that was the first thing he said we needed to do was a tune up. My brother said okay and then later he told my brother that the tune up did not do any good that it is still running rough.
He then said that his son and he were driving it and the catalytic converter caught on fire they put it out and it set on the side of the road for a few days. So my brother told him to weld a new one on. Then he told him that they cleaned the converter (But I am told that you can not clean one).
Now the story is that someone has put sugar in the gas tank and he said it needs a new motor and fuel system. My brother went down and he looked at the gas cap area and he did not see any sugar but there was an old large dead bug yet the man said he had cleaned it off. After my brother had told him he had looked at it and saw no sugar. If he cleaned it how did the bug get there?
It has been a major head ache. Mom is 72 and she loves the car because it had belonged to her brother who had taken care of it. It is a red 1993 Buick Century. I live in Huntsville and I am just finding out about all of this.
Do this mans shop have a bad name in town? Can you tell me anything about them? All I want is for my mom to get her car back and any fire damage or damage if any from the sugar to be fixed. If it happened it was while it was in his care.
Can you help me get something done about all of this? Some references of a good shop?
