I found this place on the internet and because by putting my zip code on the website I was lead to them as my nearest Cottman dealer. I called to have them take a look at my car because my transmission was splipping I got a Dominic Bellano on the phone who said he was the owner and that he could pick my car up on Monday 11/12 from R & S Strauss Auto Store.
I informed that my wife works there and he could get the car from her. They came and got the car that day and on Tuesday 11/13 we talked about the price. He quoted me a price of anywhere from 2500.00 to 3500.00 I told he I would search around for a better price. I got a price from another transmission place of 1900.00 this place had done business with my wife's job and she told me they did good work. (if she only told me before this nightmare) well anyway when I informed Dominic he decided to match the price so I told my wife never mind. On friday 11/16 the car was done
but here is when things got fishy Dominic asked me how was I going to pay?
I said probably with a credit card and he said I can't give you the deal of 1900.00 with a credit card I need you to give me at least half in cash and I won't charge you any tax. I just said whatever I want my 1900.00 deal and my car. So that evening as I was headed to 38 S Sproul Rd I was informed by Dominic's mechanic Darrin that I was going to the wrong place? They had relocated to 902 N Eagle Rd, Havertown Pa 19083 when I got there it was some kind of industrial park and the place was one of the warehouses in the park. I saw my car outside and when I talk to Darrin I told him I did not have cash on me so I would pay credit and then debit for the cash, he said they did not have a workable machine and they would have to charge me tax if I did it that way i said I did not care I would pay it.
Darrin suggested I comeback Saturday 11/17 in the morning and pick the car up and bring the cash so I did. So because he did not have a workable machine I let him take down my credit card information (stupid me)
well after I took the car I go no more that 3 miles from this place and the transmission starts slipping again and the car is running horrible. I call back and I get no answer I call Dominic (who I have never seen by the way and I get no answer) I am upset becasue now I feel scamed. I actually was trading the car in that day because my friend works at a dealership and they agreed to the trade but I was still made because that credit card had a 7000.00 limit on it and they had my info. So I spoke to my wife about it and she said cancel the card.
Now silly me did not know that I could do that so I called them up and told them the story and they stop the card and issued a new one. Then I told my wife that I was going to talk to my lawyer about this because they gave me a receipt that said Delaware County Transmissions and I thought I was dealing with Cottman Transmissions now by this time Dominic figured out the card did not work so he called me 18 times to be exact and threaten me and threaten my wife if I did not give him his money because here is the kicker I SCAMED HIM. He threaten to break my legs and arms and he was going to my wife's job if he could not find me and see her. I had him on a confrence call with my lawyer and asked him if he was threating me and he said not at all and before he hung up he said what goes around comes around.
Don't deal with this place this guy is not trust worthy. Here is the funny part I probably would have paid the creep with a cashiers check even for the horrible work he did since I was able to trade the damn car but when you threaten my life and my wife because I did not answer your call and when you did not call me back I never theaten you once for the bad service you gave me. You don't do business like that and Discount Transmissions is not who I called Cottman I heard the name of this scam is called a bait and switch don't let it happend to you.
Damn mad about it.
