My nephew and mother-in-law had the great misfortune of doing business with Central KIA of Lewisville the week of Thanksgiving 2007. Monday 11/19 my nephew went into the dealership to inquire about purchasing a new vehicle. He was told he could not purchase a vehicle on his own but if he could secure a co-signer they could make the deal happen. They then gave him a car to drive and sad he could bring it back in a couple of days with a co-signer and they could get him financed. (my nephew DOES NOT have a valid drivers license or insurance.) They told him to get his Grandmother to co-sign if his parents did not have sufficient credit or would not agree to do so.

My mother-in-law is an extremely giving and kind 75 year old woman, she agreed to follow my nephew to the dealership and cosign, unaware that he did not have a drivers license. She was also told by the dealership finance department she was just helping out her grandson and would not be responsible for the debt. She has a credit score of over 800 and they knew that they could get immediate funding. Even with her high credit score they signed her up @ an interest rate of 9.79%. Also they sold her a service contract for $3500 of which she was unaware that she was purchasing. The bottom line is that the dealer was completely aware of everything that they were doing and took advantage of an 18 year old kid who really wanted a car, and a 75 year old grandmother trying to help out.

My nephew will be shipped out to Iraq in a month leaving my mother-in-law responsible for this vehicle. The dealer knows that the primary driver of the vehicle is uninsurable and does not have a drivers license.

Upon learning that my nephew did not have a drivers license, My wife and mother-in-law took the vehicle back to the dealership the friday morning after thanksgiving to return it. They explained the situation, they asked the financed department for copies of the contracts that she had signed and were refused copies. They insisted that they be given copies of their paperwork and were finally, after about an hour and a half of being ignored and treated rudely were given only a portion of what she had signed. My wife wanted to fax me the paperwork they had given her (i have been in the automobile business for 15 years) and she was told they did not have a fax machine.

I called to try and reason with them and had no success. The next morning I tried to contact the owner Paul Fotopolous but was only able to reach his assistant Delilah Lopez. Delilah really tried to help but was unable to.

The bottom line is that these people were very aware of what they were doing and just didn't care. The victim is My 75 year old mother-in-law. I was told by Doug Freeman the Finance Director that, "we have grandmothers cosigning all of the time" I am not sure what those circumstances are but can only imagine.

Please be aware that this company is dishonest and will take advantage of anyone who will allow them to do so.

We will not stop fighting until this transaction is voided
