Newton, Ia. - The Iowa attorneygeneral's office claims it may do little to assist a large number of customers who've reported of a Newton-based organization that offers electric scooters.

Customers say they've obtained defective items, bad customer support and poor guarantee respite from Xtreme Scooters, which provides itself like a "subscription organization" of Leader Products Worldwide.

The attorneygeneral's workplace has obtained 3 to 4 customer grievances per month over the last three years, spokesperson Bob Brammer said. Their stateis Better Business Institution has obtained 128 grievances within the same period of time.

Since The company offers its items online, almost all of the grievances have now been from clients in additional claims, Brammer said. They middle mostly on item efficiency and customer support problems - not customer fraud, he explained, which stops the attorney-general's workplace from performing a lot more than mentioning individuals to the Federal Trade Commission and also the Customer Products Safety Commission.

"at this time, despite the fact that I am persuaded the customers have the best challenge, we'venot had the opportunity to consider much motion since there does not be seemingly outright scam being dedicated from the organization, " Brammer said. "It Is only really unpleasant that their customer support appears therefore bad and disputatious. Obviously individuals are discouraged below."

Greg Meske, vicepresident of Xtreme Scooters, stated the amount of customer grievances is clearly exceptionally low considering the fact that the organization offers about 50,000 scooters and electrical bicycles every year. He explained about one quarter of the Business's 19 workers focus on customer support. "I am not saying we-don't have any issues, but... It is an incredibly reduced quantity, " Meske stated. "We do attempt to make certain the client is looked after."

Martin Montague, 51, a flight trainer in El Monte, Calif., stated he's submitted numerous grievances against Xtreme Scooters after buying an $800 scooter for his stepson in late January. The scooter came as marketed inside a couple of days, currently constructed, however it smashed down a couple weeks later. He explained his stepson have been utilizing it to get a 3-distance travel to and from work.

"Now I've an $800 vessel point resting within the storage, " Montague stated. "They sent me substitute components to get a different bike, the incorrect bike, and today they WOn't go back and return the cash. I believed Iowans were said to be great people. What is happening here?"

Meske mentioned Xtreme Scooters delivered a power bike to Montague on Feb. 3. The organization obtained a phone from him May 7 confirming a set tire, that will be not protected underneath the guarantee, Meske stated.

The organization delivered a tire for that incorrect design, which Montague "was exceedingly upset about, " Meske stated.

"We did our better to solve the problem, " he explained. "He had been 60-days from the guarantee, and we offered him the components at no cost."

Meske said Xtreme Scooters doesn't create immediate discounts to clients since the items can be purchased through about 300 online sellers.

"We're a wholesale organization, " Meske stated. "The deal is between your client and also the seller."

Chris Coleman, leader of the Iowa Better Business Office, stated his company has obtained 66 grievances about Xtreme Scooters within the last year - an archive that is regarded "poor" from the bureau. Of the 128 grievances within the last 3 years, 20 remain uncertain, and eight have gotten no reaction in the organization.

The agency shut 54 of the grievances despite the fact that "customers stayed disappointed" since it decided Xtreme Scooters had created an acceptable try to solve them, Coleman said.

"I'd bother about a business of this dimension having 128 grievances in three years, " he explained. "It Is substantial enough. We are worried enough about that that we started dealing with the (attorney general's) office."
