Subject: False advertising of Crain Chevrolet
On November 09 I was searching the internet for used cars ten thousand dollars or less. I searched on Crain Chevrolet for used cars Chevrolet 'up to $10,000'. The search returned 14 cars, one being a 2004 Chevrolet Corvette as follows:

I sent a request through their website for contact. On November 10 I received a call from Oscar Dotson of Crain Chevrolet. When asked what the price of the car was, he told me 31 thousand. I explained to him this car was located in a search for 'up to 10,000'. He said he wasn't aware and that it was an error and they could not sell the car to me for such price. I contacted my bank, gave the loan officer the website address and of how to search for it. Because this is Saturday, the bank cannot process the loan today. Wade was astonished that they had it listed for 'up to 10000'. He told me he would have the loan processed on Tuesday.
I called back to speak with Oscar Dutton of the actual dollar amount that the bank would have the actual figure. He then told me there was no price on the car at that time. I reminded him that when he had called me earlier in the day he had quoted a price. He asked was it 32,000. Close enough to the 31,000, I agreed. I asked him again for the actual' up to 10,000' price. He said he was not the one who had put this on the internet, that it was an error, and that the person who does the internet site was off and they could not correct it at this time. I explained to him that I was sure it was an error but they needed to honor the price of 'up to 10,000' just the same. He told me he could not do this. That I would need to call his director. I told him being he is the one who returned my call from the website contact I expected him to handle it and for me not to have to bring other person's into it.in discussing the bank processing he said I would need to come for the car. I asked him for an amount to hold the car until Tuesday and he would not give me an amount. I think it is totally wrong that auto dealers or any other can advertise such as a ploy to get person's into the business in an effort to make a sell. This is bad business at it's worst. We should learn from our mistakes and Crain should have to honor the internet price 'up to 10,000' even if it is below what the normal selling price is.
