I bought a brand new Snowbear Unlimited utility trailer at home depot in May. It was driven 2 miles to my backyard until I had a chance to use it in July when I discovered that the Duro tires on my new trailer had fallen apart. Specifically, the air valve's on both wheels are almost completely detached and the tires are totally flat and don't hold any air at all.
That home depot location no longer sells trailers, so they cannot (or are unwilling) to help me replace the defective wheels on my new trailer. Snowbear Unlimited left it up to me to deal with the tire company because tires are the one part of their trailers that they don't stand behind.
I dealt with a woman named Dawn Thompson at Duro Tire. Her only recommendation was to have the wheels repaired and send them the bill. When I told her I'd rather have new wheels instead of newly-repaired wheels on my brand new trailer she responded that this is "not tire repair."
Quick note: it's summer time in Arizona, 115 degrees. I have to go outside, take the wheels off of my brand new $500 trailer, bring them to a tire repair shop to get them fixed, then put the refurbished wheels back on my brand new trailer in 115 degree heat. Dawn suggested I have someone "... Hold a flashlight for me and do it at night." In the summer in Arizona at night it cools down to a brisk 105. Thanks Dawn.
(I digressed.) When I told her I'd rather have new wheels instead of newly-repaired wheels on my brand new trailer she said "this is not tire repair, you just need to have the nozzle replaced." To me, the process I described in the last paragraph is tire repair. And a lot of work for me, and an expense for which I have no real reason to believe Dawn and her cohorts at Duro Tire will reimburse me.
